WHAT IS SMALL BATCH ROASTING?

Small batch roasting is not just about roasting smaller amounts of coffee; it's about the size of the batch roasted in relation to the roasting cylinder's maximum capacity (usually defined as no more than 70% capacity) in order to allow for the maximum amount of control to create an even roast every time. Each bean requires an individually developed roast profile to reach its full potential.

WHAT IS A Q-SCORE?

This article explains the Q grading system well, but here's a short summary:

"The Q system employs a standard and universal language for evaluating coffee, both at the export level and at the consumer level, first certifying coffees as specialty, or not, then assigning a score on a 100-point scale. (Coffees that score below 80 are deemed commodity, i.e., not specialty coffees.) Q certified coffees fetch premium prices for farmers and exporters and allow green-coffee buyers to select by score and other qualities to present roasters with the wealth of options—across origins, processing methods, and coffee varieties—we see as coffee drinkers in cafés and on store shelves." 

IS YOUR COFFEE ORGANIC?

We currently mark all organically certified coffee as "Organic" in their title. Our other selections are likely to be organic, but as they are not officially certified, we do not promote them as such. Many of our coffees are sourced from small plantations that use traditional, natural farming techniques, but lack the ability to obtain official organic certification due to their size.

DO YOU OFFER FLAVORED COFFEE?

No.  Flavored coffee, to us, is like a fine boxed wine.  It's not fine at all.

We accept all major credit cards as well as Paypal.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

Your coffee is freshly roasted just for you, so we are unable to offer returns or refunds.  However, if you have an issue with your order, please reach out to us so we can work with you to make it right.  If you are unsure of what type of coffee will satisfy your pallet, consider creating a custom taster pack to help make the decision a bit easier.  

HOW DO I CANCEL A SUBSCRIPTION?

Subscriptions will automatically renew each week or month according to how you originally made the purchase.  You may cancel at anytime by reaching out to us at info@deebescoffee.com.
